Thanks to all who participated in the jointly sponsored environmental program at the Community Center last week! More than 70 attended the forum and their comments were universally complimentary. It was a time for learning and sharing about updates to the 3 R’s of decades ago. Norwalk’s recent revision of recycling rules was distributed and discussed, as were developments in surrounding communities and in local and neighboring school systems where “zero waste” is more than a buzz phrase. Thanks to our partners, Rowayton Library and Norwalk Land Trust – and particularly to Marny Smith, Melissa Yurechko and Lisa Shanahan! Remember to skip the straw and support a ban on plastic bags – and maybe even start composting with curbside pickups…we all will benefit.
