Please join us for a visit to the exquisite gardens of landscape designer, Kathryn Herman. Part of the original Pepperidge Farm estate, this six-acre property surrounds what was once the 1920’s groom’s cottage and chauffeur’s quarters.
Ms. Herman will, personally, guide and inform us throughout an in-depth tour. Along the way we will visit her custom Alitex greenhouse with adjacent garden, an extensive vegetable garden and orchard, meadows, honey-producing beehives, a water-feature garden, and a swimming pool garden with the original gamecock house. A 114-foot double herbaceous perennial garden, original yew ‘muffins’ dating back to the 1920’s, sculptural evergreen plantings, and many mature deciduous trees round out and define the magnificent property.
The gardens won the 2016 Stanford White Award and the 2019 Palladio Award, and the residence won the 2008 Palladio Award. Kathryn Herman’s Garden has been featured in Architectural Digest and Gardens Illustrated. You won’t want to miss this one!
