Beekeeping 101

Is beekeeping for you?  Back by popular demand, our Potting Shed friend Marina Marchese of Red Bee Honey in weston is offering a guided tour on Tuesday, September 12th, from 6 to 8:30 pm. She will lead us on a walking tour to 3 outstanding and unique beehives located in Rowayton (those of John Igneri, Mark Sattler and Joe Warren).  Marina will divulge apiarist secrets of setting up a healthy hive, harvesting honey and how to tackle beekeeping challenges such as swarms and disease.  The evening will round out with some sweet honey samplings and light appetizers back at the Potting Shed. Adult and junior apiarists are welcome.  The cost for this exciting program is $45 for Members and $50 for Non-Members.
