Raising her family, growing a garden, her career, and having a few hobbies, on the side, were goals to which our February speaker, Frances Palmer, of Weston, CT aspired. Frances was trained as an art historian, and later began her professional career as a printmaker, then, became interested in pottery. From the start, Frances derived artistic inspiration for her pottery from her dahlias, a true collaboration between craft and cut flowers that still exists today. Several years ago, Frances generously treated the Rowayton Gardeners to a personally guided insider’s look at her property, and we have never forgotten the beauty and splendor of the floral celebration of color in her gardens, and our tour of her studio. Today, she is an internationally renowned potter, gardener, photographer, and author of ‘Life in the Studio: Inspiration and Lessons on Creativity,’ For the most part, she doesn’t make or grow things to hold onto them but, rather, to send them out into the world for others to live with and enjoy. Please, join us for this very special program, a richly introspective and enchanting presentation by Frances Palmer… you’ll be delighted that you did.
