Program: Breathing Life into Aging Gardens
Nancy DuBrule-Clemente, originator and owner of Natureworks, in Northford, CT is an educator, writer, much sought after speaker and co-author of ‘A Country Garden for your Backyard’ with Rowayton Gardeners’ own, Marny Smith. Nancy describes her program, Breathing Life into Aging Gardens, thusly: ‘Gardens change, we change and, over time, every garden needs to be looked at with fresh eyes. Perhaps, some plants are now too difficult to care for? Maybe you want to switch out some fussy perennials for easier to care for flowering shrubs? Do you crave pops of bright color in what used to be a blue and pink border? Are some plants taking over that need to be divided, thinned out, perhaps, even eliminated? Do you suddenly have sun after losing a few mature trees to the storms of the past few years? Have your trees grown so much that your former sun garden is now in shadows? It’s time to rethink, reorganize and redesign a garden that fits your current needs and criteria.’
