Program: The Spirit of Stone 
Jan Johnsen, author of The Spirit of the Stone and Heaven is a Garden, has won awards as a landscape designer and instructor at the NY Botanical Gardens. In her talk, Jan will inspire us with intriguing design ideas for using natural stone in our gardens. She’ll provide insights and photos of creative ways to incorporate stone as accents, as art, as walls, as drainage, as steps, as paths and with plants. Ms. Johnsen explains why this most elemental of materials creates a timeless sensuality that no other garden material can.
