In the Buzz About Bees, Don’t Forget Natives

Laura Tangley of the National Wildlife Federation considers native bees the “Wild Pollinator Champs. She says that they are unsung heroes, even though honey bees (imports from Europe) are getting lots of buzz: “…with all the attention being paid to honeybees, I wonder if we’re overlooking an even more important story: the critical role wild, native bees play pollinating plants both in natural and agricultural systems.
